Basic rules for cartridge

Technical data > Thermic calculations > Basic rules for cartridge

1. Determine the maximum temperature of utilization of the element to heat.

2. Calculate the total power required for the utilization (see the following example of calculation and the annexe).

3. Determine the cartridges' dimensions taking into account the space which is available. Make sure of the homogeneity of the CCHCs lay-out.

4. Divide the total power required by the amount of cartridges in order to determine the power per heater.

5.Determine the heater's specific charge (W/cm2) (power/heating surface).

6. By using the temperature defined in §1 and the power defined in §5, make use of the graphs here above to calculate the maximum acceptable tolerance between the boring diameter and the heater in comparison to its power.
